She came bearing gifts...

Had a great day at the studio yesterday. The lovely Kaz ( our latest Dylusions design team member) came to visit. I was teaching an art journaling class and before you know it she just got thrown in, feet first, in the deep end.

She panicked when she saw me looking

but despite never having tried it before and not knowing what she was doing, I think she got off to a great start.

The gorgeous girlie that she is brought me a fantastic surprise pressie. A vintage Singer sewing machine and an electric one at that. Fanfrikkintastic.... she can come again.!!!

It arrived in its very own, extremely well made and heavy, carrying case. Which was the size of a medium suitcase, and weighed an absolute ton even when empty. This machine was obviously someones pride and joy, as it is in immaculate condition, and that certain someone was a Miss Daly.!!

This is the original part exchange receipt,  £120.00. A mahoosive amount of money in the 1950's. You can get them for so much less nowadays.

Look at all the original ephemera that came with it...I particularly love the oil for lubricating your motor.!!! No comments necessary thank you, lol.

We had a fabby day, and those who want to meet her, she will be demoing and generally floating around on the Sunday of our birthday celebrations.

Oops think I've nodded off there.!!

Thats better...

I'll leave you with a journal page from my ledger

PS...it has come to my attention that Our Ben is having an attack of the vapours again...He's only gone and announced free UK standard postage, on any orders placed on the website over the Bank Holiday weekend. I'm sure normal service will resume shortly so better take advantage while you can .!!

Finishing....

Off...that is...

Today, so far, has been a finishing day. Finishing all those little projects that |I hadn't quite got round to before. Sure makes you feel good. The sewing machine has been whirring, stamps have been stamping, ends have been completing.
I am resisting the temptation to celebrate by procrastinating even further, although it is hard and I am going to soldier on. See you at the other side.

PS all  restocks of my Dylusions, stamps, paints and inks are now on the shelves.

finished....

It's my day for maisie today, and as her Dad had an early start, so did we.!! I picked her up at 7am, and we went to Asda for comics, bananas and cinnamon and raisin bagels. We are now firmly ensconsed back in bed snuggling and generally being lazy bones.!!! We have a busy day ahead so we are simply charging our batteries ready for the mayhem..!!

Do you remember the journal I made for the plane, before I set off for CHA. Well heres the photos of the finished journal. Just love it.

In fact love it so much that I have prepped another one ready to start.

Pride comes before a fall...

Oh yes, it's a very true saying indeed. After all the excitement of the QVC announcement, I should have known better than to expect a smooth quiet weekend. And Saturday morning, down with an almighty bang, from the highest level..!!!

You wouldn't believe it if I told you so I won't.

Our Maisie did her best to cheer me up at tea, with her dinosaur. loved the sunglasses look.

She had also shopped for an impromptu picnic, bless her.

Needless to say, it has taken some getting over, so I have retreated to the comfort of my bed today, not to sleep, but to put in some long overdue journaling hours. Not for work, or samples, just good old Art journaling, therapy for my much bruised soul. I got tons done, and the fog is beginning to lift slightly.
